Port er House (Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta)

Exterior

Last weekend, I had an appointment with my friends and we decided to had a dinner together at Port er House, a cool restaurant at Pantai Indah Kapuk. Strangely, the restaurant was not really crowded and I could barely see any customers inside the restaurant even though it was weekend. (and the waiter didn't even greet us, so we just sat and asked for menu by ourselves) The restaurant is located not far from Excelso Cafe and I bet you won't be lost while finding this restaurant.

The restaurant has two kinds of dining area, outdoor area (smoking area) and indoor area (non-smoking area), I reckon they can accommodate up to 100 people. The decoration is modern, simple and green! (there are plenty of plants in the outdoor area) The place is cozy enough and I bet I could spend hours here. I also found interesting fact during my visit, I could see that the waiters were not writing our order at all, so I reckon they memorized all of it. (wow!)

Without further ado, let's get started with their foods!

Port er House Salad (IDR 35k)
Port er House Salad

Port er House Salad consists of grilled chicken breast, sliced smoked beef, boiled egg, fried dumpling skin and various vegetables. The sliced beef was quite disappointing, probably the most unappetizing smoked beef that I ever had, it was bland and lack of seasoning. The grilled chicken breast and salad tasted pretty decent and I love how they added those super crispy fried dumpling skins into the salad!

Nachos (IDR 38k)
Nachos

(Food porn alert!)

Even though it might not be the most photogenic dish, I just couldn't resist the appearance of super good melted cheese on the top of those nachos. The nachos was crispy and the melted cheese did an amazing job in elevating the taste of whole dish, could I have more cheese on my nachos, please?

Potato Wedges (IDR 26k)
Potato Wedges

I super love their Potato Wedges, I know that I might be subjective because I have so much love for potato-based food, but I have to say that their potato wedges were awesome! The potato wedges was sliced thinly and had a perfect level of crispness. Just dip it in chili sauce and it will be a perfect snack!

Pop Corn Chicken (IDR 46k)
Pop Corn Chicken

The Pop Corn Chicken was served along with salad and Thai chili sauce and it tasted pretty delicious for me. I don't know whether it was supposed to be served like that or not, because everything in the plate was so messy. (lol!) The chicken was crispy and tender enough, but the sauce was a bit weird for my liking. Nevertheless, it was a great snack even though the price was quite high in my opinion.

BBQ Chicken Wings (IDR 30k)
BBQ Chicken Wings

The chicken wings was drenched with BBQ sauce and it tasted pretty decent for me. The BBQ sauce was too weak and watery in my opinion, I could barely taste the BBQ flavor. The chicken wings were fairly tender, definitely not the best chicken wings that I ever had, but it was okay.

Escargot Borguignon (IDR 55k)
Escargot Borguignon

To be honest, it was my first time ever trying escargot in my life, I always thought about creepy things when I saw escargot, so I never dare to try it. That day, I decided to try it and it was unexpectedly great! The escargot was a bit chewy and not fishy at all, it was mostly dominated with salty taste from the cheese. I'm looking forward to my next experience with escargot-based dish!

Port er House Pizza (Left), Pizza A la Pollo (Right)

We ordered two kinds of pizza that day and both pizzas were unexpectedly huge, both were served in a long wooden board.

The topping consists of chicken, minced beef, pepperoni, bell pepper, black olive, mushroom and mozzarella cheese. The pizza was divided into 3 sections, the first section topped with minced beef, the second section topped with mushroom and bell pepper, and the third section topped with chicken. All sections were delicious, but I personally love the second section, the minced beef and pepperoni really made a great combination and it was super delicious.

The topping consist of grilled chicken breast, mushroom, bell pepper, tomato, oregano and melted cheese. The chicken breast was tender, but it was bland and plain, I bet it would be better if they put stronger seasoning to the chicken breast. Overall, the pizza tasted pretty decent, it was not outstanding, but it was okay.

Chocolate Milkshake (IDR 27k)
Chocolate Milkshake

The Chocolate Milkshake tasted like packaged chocolate milk which you can find on supermarket with addition of chocolate condensed milk. I expected a delicious chocolate milkshake, but this one was quite disappointing.

Food

Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Port er House, the foods they served tasted pretty decent and the place was cozy. The service was quite disappointing, it's a bit hard to call the waiter, I guess they were short of waiters at that time. In terms of price, some dishes were pretty affordable, but some were pretty expensive, so you have to choose wisely. Will I come back to Port er House? I'm not sure, maybe yes because of their place, not for their food. I do hope they improve their food and I wish them best of luck!
