Shirayuki (Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta)

Shirayuki

Please welcome the new Japanese dessert shop located at North Jakarta, specifically at Pantai Indah Kapuk, Shirayuki! Apparently, Shirayuki is a re-branding of Kabocha, a Japanese restaurant which served pasta and dessert. They come with new image which provide a lot of cute and "instagenic" Japanese dessert. The place is not really hard to find, it is located near PIK Fresh Market and accross Tzu Chi School, I bet you will recognize it with the help of the crowd, especially if you come on weekend. (I suggest you to come earlier to prevent long queue!)

The place is not really big and spacey, like a typical of most restaurants at Pantai Indah Kapuk. I reckon they can accommodate up to 50 people. The interior is mostly dominated with light grey color which gives off winter vibe. (I really love the color of their wall!) Most of the customers were teenagers (as expected) and I bet most of them came because of Shirayuki's cute and photogenic desserts.

Without further ado, let's talk about their dessert!

Premium Blueberry Yukidaruma Matsuri (IDR 48k)
Premium Blueberry Yukidaruma Matsuri

(Introducing one of Shirayuki's signature dessert, Yukidaruma Matsuri!)

A cute snowman-shaped shaved ice surrounded by blueberry jelly, candy mochi, oreo ice cream mochi, boba, grape served along with blueberry sauce. The candy mochi tasted pretty decent, the oreo ice cream mochi tasted pretty delicious and the blueberry jelly was my favorite, it was soft and had a light blueberry flavor. Overall, it tasted pretty decent, the taste was not really outstanding, but it was not bad as well. Plus point for the cuteness of this dessert!

Shiratama Mochi Parfait (IDR 35k)
Shiratama Mochi Parfait

Shiratama Mochi Parfait consists of matcha ice cream, corn flakes, shiratama mochi, red bean, coffee jelly, crystal jelly and seaweed biscuit. This one tasted pretty delicious and I love their matcha ice cream, it had a quite strong green tea flavor and had a perfect level of sweetness. The seaweed biscuit tasted pretty unique as well, it had a seaweed flavor and scent, but it was sweet unlike salty dried seaweed. I guess this one is the safest choice for first-timer who would like to experienced their Japanese dessert!

Bailey's Kanten (IDR 36k)
Bailey's Kanten

Bailey's Kanten consists of shredded crystal jelly, Bailey's (alcohol) and ice cream (you can choose whether you want matcha, kashoku or twist flavor) Mine came with twist flavor, it is a mix of matcha and kashoku (Japanese peanut). I am so in love with the kashoku flavor, the flavor was new to me and I love how it had memorable taste. The crystal jelly also made a great pairing with Bailey's. (well, who doesn't like Bailey's?) Overall, this dessert tasted pretty delicious, not to mention the presentation is unique as well!

Fantasy Orange Watanoki Matsuri (IDR 37k)
Fantasy Orange Watanoki Matsuri

(Another cute dessert!)

Seriously, all people were looking at this one when it arrived at my table. Fantasy Orange Watanoki Matsuri consists of matcha ice cream, mochi, and mango flavored cotton candy. I bet most of you will remember your childhood era because of the cotton candy, though I found the cotton candy to be overly sticky. The matcha ice cream tasted pretty delicious and the mochi was okay, it was quite bland. Overall, this one tasted pretty decent and refreshing. (and photogenic)

Overall, it was a great visit to Shirayuki, their dessert tasted pretty decent and cute (some were delicious as well), the service was okay for a new dessert shop and the place was nice. They definitely know that cute and intriguing food appearance is important nowadays. Although most of their dessert tasted pretty decent, I personally can't get enough of their kashoku ice cream. I didn't get to try their food that day and I will definitely try it on my next visit!

I wish best of luck for Shirayuki!
