[Event] K-Food Fair 2015 (Mall Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta)

Korean Food

(Who loves Korean food?)

Korean Food Fair (or K-Food Fair) is an event which is organized by Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and supported by Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation. The main purpose of the event is to introduce various kinds of halal Korean cuisine to global market. As you might know, pork is one of the ingredients that is often used in Korean cuisine and this might be an obstacle for those who don't eat pork. Therefore, halal Korean cuisine will be a great idea for Muslim country such as Indonesia.

The event was held during 17-18 October 2015 at Mall Kota Kasablanka and there were many attractions such as martial art performance, K-pop dance performance, Nanta performance, Hanbok experience, Korean traditional board game and Korean food stall. It is definitely a must-visit event for Korean lovers!

Cheese Tteokbokki

I tried almost all foods they served and all of them tasted pretty delicious and great. The cheese tteokbokki was undoubtedly good, it was not really spicy and the cheese tasted pretty great. In fact, those food were actually instant food which you can find at Korean mart nearby. Oh, did I mention that they were giving free samples for you to try during the event?

One of the stall that will surely catch everyone attention is the Kyochon stall which is located near the showcase of Halal Korean Food Product. I did try some dishes from Kyochon such as their tteokbokki and their bulgogi and both of them tasted pretty delicious although it might be super spicy for those who can't handle spicy food!

K-Food Fair 2015 also become a symbol of good relationship between Korean and Indonesia for 42 years. (wow!) As a symbol, they also made 42 meters long Kimbab during the opening ceremony. It's too bad that I couldn't join the opening ceremony so I don't have any picture of it. For your information, Kimbab is Korean signature food which is made from rice rolled with dried seaweed and filled with various topping, it could be eaten as snack for many occasions.
