Thai Alley (Gandaria City, Jakarta)

Pla Tod Kratiam

Thai Alley is an authentic Thai restaurant that served various kind of street food(s) from Thailand in modern concept. Thai Alley has already established four outlet(s) located in big shopping mall around Jakarta and Tangerang area such as Pacific Place Mall, Puri Indah Mall, Summarecon Mal Serpong and Gandaria City. I went to their outlet at Gandaria City which is pretty easy to find since it is located near the lobby and H&M.

The restaurant itself is quite big and spacious, I reckon they could accommodate up to 100 people in total. The interior is pretty bright with those super colorful chair(s) and table(s). The decoration remains humble and classy at the same time which goes well with their "Street Food" concept. I didn't see many people during my visit, maybe because it was raining super hard that day. (rainy season has come, huh?)

Let's get started with their food!

Pla Manaow (IDR 325k - Garupa, IDR 335k - Jaramed, IDR 270k - Kapong)
Pla Manaow

Pla Manaow is steamed whole fish drenched with soup infused with fresh lime juice and chili sauce. The price of this food will be different depends on the type of fish. This one tasted pretty decent as it had strong sour and tangy flavor. The good thing is the fish is not fishy at all thanks to the huge amount of lime juice!

Pla Tom Yam (IDR 335k - Garupa, IDR 285k - Kapong)
Pla Tom Yam

Pla Tom Yam is steamed whole fish drenched with tom yam soup and herbs. As you might know, I am not a big fan of seafood, but I find this one tasted pretty decent as the soup and herbs managed to get rid the fishy smell. The Tom Yam soup was not overly spicy and sour, the taste was just right although it would be better if the soup was denser.

Pla Tod Yam Mamuang (IDR 309k - Garupa, IDR 279k - Kapong)
Pla Tod Yam Mamuang

Pla Tod Yam Mamuang is literally fried whole fish covered with chili mango dressing. The appearance of this dish was pretty with combination of all those colour. I didn't get to try this one though, but I was told that it tasted pretty good.

Pla Tod Kratiam (IDR 309k - Garupa/Jaramed)
Pla Tod Kratiam

Pla Tod Kratiam is fried whole fish topped with crushed fried garlic and served along with special chili sauce. This one was my favorite although I am not so into seafood thanks to the fried garlic. The fried garlic was super amazing and it did a great job in elevating the taste of whole dish. The special chili sauce was unique as well. Perfect!

Overall, I had a good lunch at Thai Alley, the food tasted pretty decent, the place is nice and the service was okay. Oh, and did you know that they currently have special event called "Thai Alley Lucky Fishing"?

In order to participate, you just have to order any fish menu with minimum purchase of IDR 400k (before tax & service) and you will get chance to take a lottery with various prize such as cash voucher, discount voucher, free dessert and grand prize return ticket to Thailand!

You literally have to "Fish" the voucher by yourself using the mini fishing game which reminds me of my childhood!

Lucky Fishing

Last but not least, thanks for having me and I wish best of luck for Thai Alley!
