Haengbok (Gading Serpong, Jakarta)

(It's a Good Friday!)

Haengbok is a newly established Korean BBQ Restaurant at Gading Serpong area. Haengbok is re-branding of Korean restaurant famous for its 8-flavors pork belly namely Gomawo. Most of the menu remains the same including those super delicious 8-flavors pork belly. It is located at Gading Serpong area, if you come from Jakarta, just follow the road after the exit from the highway and the restaurant will be at your right side.

Interior

The restaurant itself is not really big, but it was spacious enough, I reckon they can accommodate up to 28 people in total. So, I recommend you to make a reservation before you come here. The interior was neat with several paintings on the wall about Korean culture. Oh, and they currently have buffet promotion for only IDR 129k (Pork) or IDR 149k (Pork & Beef). It's a great deal indeed!

Let's get started with their food!

8-Flavors Samgyeopsal (IDR 349.9k/400gr or IDR 99.9k/200gr or IDR 59.9k/100gr)
8 Flavors Samgyeopsal

8 Flavors Samgyeopsal is one of their signature menus, it consists of pork belly with 8 different flavors including garlic, curry, honey, wine, herbs, cheese, seaweed and gochujang. It tasted super duper delicious and my favorite would be the cheese and curry one. I have been loving this menu ever since the first time I ate at Gomawo and I'm glad they still have this menu at Haengbok!

Sogogigul Mari (IDR 94.9k)
Sogogigul Mari

Sogogigul Mari is oyster and chives wrapped with beef belly. It tasted pretty good and if you love seafood I bet you will love this one. The oyster was fresh, chewy and made a great pairing for the pork belly!

Woo Samgyeop
Woo Samgyeop

Woo Samgyeop is marinated beef belly and this one tasted heavenly delicious as I'm loving how the meat was tender, thin and rich in flavor. I bet I could devour all of this even by myself because it's that good!

Special Bibimbap (IDR 54.9k - Beef)
Special Bibimbab

Bibimbap is probably the most famous Korean dish which consists of rice, veggies and meat topped with sauce and served in a hot pot. It tasted pretty decent and I always love to eat those half-burnt rice at the bottom of the hot pot.

Sondoboo Jjigae (IDR 64.9K)
Sondoboo Jjigae

Sondoboo Jjigae is spicy tofu stew served with beef, vegetables, mushrooms and clams served in a hot pot. The broth was quite spicy and had strong flavor, I bet this will be good to warm your body especially in a cold weather!

Jumeok Bab (IDR 29,9k)
Jumeok Bab

Jumeok Bab is one of their signature menus which consists of seasoned rice with seaweed laver made to ball-like-shape. Seriously, I recommend you to try this because it tasted freaking delicious. Can I have this everyday to substitute rice?

Bbuldak (IDR 79.9k)
Bbuldak

(Cheese porn alert!)

Bbuldak is stir fried 'fire chicken' topped with melted mozzarella cheese. You can choose the spiciness level for this one ranging from 1 to 10. I love how they were being pretty generous with the mozzarella cheese, the chicken was a little bit oily and it tasted sweet and spicy at the same time.

Overall, I had an amazing lunch at Haengbok, the food tasted super delicious, the place is nice and the service was good. If I could say, their food are as good as (perhaps better than) some of the restaurant that I have ever tried in South Korea. I'm glad that they are being consistent with the taste of their food and welcome back to the F&B scene! Thanks for having me and I wish best of luck for Haengbok!
