Larb Thai Cuisine (Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta)

Larb Thai Cuisine is an authentic Thai restaurant which is a newcomer in the growing Pantai Indah Kapuk area. They aimed to serve authentic Thai cuisine which boast its strong spices and bold flavor. They are located in the newest Ruko The Metro in the same row as Legend of Noodle and Saine Daise.

I have to say that the place is clearly not spacious as typical restaurant in Pantai Indah Kapuk area as they only occupied one building. The interior was filled with mirror which is good to make the restaurant look wider and spacier.

Let's get started with their food!

Yum Vermicelli (IDR 35.5k)

Yum Vermicelli consists of stir-fried vermicelli along with seafood, veggies and herbs. It tasted pretty delicious and the sour flavor is definitely on point.

Papaya Salad is another signature dish from Thai cuisine which is basically shredded crispy papaya served with special sauce. It's a great idea to combine the saltiness from salted egg with the sourness from papaya salad.

Pineapple Fried Rice (IDR 49.5k)

Pineapple Fried Rice is fried rice with pineapple, raisins topped with cashew nut and served in a pineapple bowl. I reckon this is one of the most famous Thai dish, not to mention it's pretty photogenic and tasted delicious as well.

If you have ever been to Thailand before, I bet you couldn't miss to try the Pandan Chicken. It is basically grilled chicken wrapped with pandan leaves. The aromatic scent from the pandan leaves managed to give this dish a wonderful flavor.

Basil Pork or Chicken is definitely one of the safest yet dangerous choice for the first-timer to Thai food. As some people might hate the smell of basil and some might like it. As for me, I am liking the smell of basil and so is this dish!

Larb Fried Seabass Fish is apparently one of the signature menu from Larb Thai Cuisine. It is deep fried seabass topped with Thai-style spices. Delicious!

Please welcome the highlight of the night, Gigantic Seafood with Thai Lemon Sauce! It consists of crab, mussels, squid, fish and prawns served in giant plate. It is more than enough for 10 people. Keep in mind that this dish can only be made through reservation!

Overall, I had a great dinner at Larb Thai Cuisine, the food tasted pretty delicious, the service was great and the place is nice. I didn't expect to taste such authentic Thai dish and I'm truly satisfied by their food. Best of luck for Larb Thai Cuisine and thanks for having me!

Gyoza Bar (Central Park, Jakarta)

Gyoza Bar is the newest establishment of Midtown group which is located at Central Park, specifically at Tribeca Park. The concept of the restaurant is bar and eatery with specialty in Japanese food such as gyoza, sushi and donburi.

The restaurant itself is quite big and spacious with open kitchen and bar concept. It has an indoor and outdoor dining area. There is also a pretty corner with hanging chair which makes an instagrammable spot for those who would like to snap their outfit of the day (ootd!)

Let's get started with their food, shall we?

Chicken Truffle Mushroom Gyoza (IDR 42k)

Chicken Truffle Mushroom Gyoza is basically pan-fried gyoza with minced chicken, cabbage, mushroom and truffle oil for the filling. It tasted pretty delicious and quite spicy because of the chili sauce.

Chicken Katsu Don consists of breaded chicken topped with super sexy half-boiled egg over the rice. Plus point for the perfect half-boiled egg as everyone knows that it's not easy to do it right!

Chillies Gyutan Don consists of beef tongue rice bowl served with veggies and fried garlic. It tasted pretty good though the meat was quite tough.

Volcanic Roll is one of their sushi creation which consists of soft shell crab, unagi, avocado, spicy aioli sauce and lettuce. It tasted pretty light and it didn't have any bad smell at all.

Deep Ocean Roll is fried california roll with cream cheese and topped with spicy aioli sauce. Everything that's fried just never go wrong, don't you think so?

Okonomiyaki (IDR 49k)

Okonomiyaki is basically Japanese-style omelette topped with dried seaweed and dried bonito flakes. It tasted pretty good even though the taste was quite light.

Pork Belly Bao Bun is basically bun filled with sliced pork belly and vegetables. Seems appetizing enough?

All of the desserts tasted pretty good, it was not overwhelmingly sweet and had unique taste (especially the black sesame seed bread pudding). The presentation was pretty and I bet you can't stop taking pictures of these instagrammable desserts.

Food

Overall, I had a great lunch at Gyoza Bar, the food tasted pretty good, the service was good and the place is nice. It's good to see that there are more places to eat and hangout in Central Park area and I bet this area will be super packed in the near future. (can you imagine 3 huge shopping malls standing next to each other?)

Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh is one of the Teochew-style Bak Kut Teh restaurants in town which originated from Singapore. Founded in 1973 by Madam Gwee Peck Hua and her sisters Gwee Guek Hua, Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh has expanded it wings by opening their outlet in Indonesia, specifically at Mall Taman Anggrek.
